The Iranian Modern Business Company (IMBCO) was established 6 years ago which is considered one of the main e-commerce players in Iran’s startup scene having NetBarg, Chilivery and Tik8 in its portfolio.
Since a year ago a few of the local Iranian banks started to offer credit cards to the employees of some of the private and government institutions as a pilot program. Now after the pilot phase, it’s been said that credit cards are about to be offered to the public.
It all started in the spring of 2014 in Tehran. A bunch of kids who studied in one of the best high schools in Iran, just took Konkoor exam (a standardized test widely used for college admissions in Iran) and instead of playing around or just studying their courses, they wanted to start a project and do something real not just studying.
