TEDxTehran is back for its fourth year with the theme of “Good Morning Tehran!”.
TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to “Ideas Worth Spreading”, usually in the form of short (18 minutes or fewer) talks delivered by today’s leading thinkers and doers. The locally self-organized events are branded TEDx, where the “x” translates into independently organized TED event. The general guidance of the TEDx program is provided by the TED Conference though the event itself is self-organized.
On December 20th, TEDxTehran comes back to Tehran’s grand Vahdat Hall. As one of the largest independently organized TED events in Iran, TEDxTehran is bringing together bright minds, innovators, doers and industry leaders with the theme “Good Morning Tehran!”. As TEDxTehran puts it “The Morning can be an occasion to reconnect with our internal world, to reflect, reevaluate and to change the course of not only of a singular day, but perhaps our entire life.”
TEDxTehran events are invitation-only events, all attendees can apply through TEDxTehran website. The event is also going to have live-cast for online viewers. This year’s speakers will be announced on the official website in the upcoming days. During the years, the majority of the event’s talks were in Farsi, and English in minor occasions. TEDxTehran speakers have included Leila Araghian, Ramin Sadighi, Sohrab Pournazeri, Mohammadali Inanlou, Alireza Tahmasebzadeh, Bahram Azimi, Nasser Aghdami, Reza Pakravan, Sassan Behzadi and Amirali Nabavian.
This year, with the partnership with TechRasa, TEDxTehran is introducing “TEDxTehran Favorite City Apps”. During the event, a series of apps that are making the everyday life of a Tehran citizen better will be showcased at the event. You can find the touch stands in the event ground to check out the apps and read about them on TechRasa.
