The 5th INOTEX exhibition got kicked off on May 22nd in Tehran. The event will be held for three days with the participation of innovative and technological companies from over 14 countries.

The 5th International Innovation and Technology Exhibition (INOTEX 2016) aims to bring together technology-based enterprises from over 14 counties in Iran. The exhibition is held with the support of the Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology and Pardis Technology Park. Last year 48 foreign companies attended the exhibition. With the sanctions being lifted, this year over 83 foreign companies have attended INOTEX to tap the untouched market in Iran.

INOTEX 2016 attracted over 90 domestic knowledge-based companies along with 83 institutes this year. “The large e-commerce market is yet another one of our capabilities, and this includes the 400 million people market of the neighboring countries, aside from the domestic market,” said Sorena Sattari, the Iranian Vice-President for Science and Technology during the event.

Sattari stated that joint-venture cooperations with international companies are one of the priorities of Iran. Adding that Iran will not be just a consumer for other countries, and we expect for the transfer of technology and joint cooperation with foreign companies.

Companies from Russia, Greece, Belarus, Austria, India, China and South Korea are presenting their products during the exhibition and have shown interest to transfer their technology to the country. Along with the exhibition, a number of talks and panels have been held during the event for the companies to exchange their scientific achievements with one another.

Aside from this year’s INOTEX exhibition, the first Iranian Entrepreneurship Forum called “Silicon Iran” is being held at the Tehran International Fair simultaneously. The event features speeches discussing the hottest trends in the international and the Iranian market along with panel discussions on the challenges of entrepreneurship in the country. The event also aims to encourage investment opportunities in Iran.
