The second meeting of investment firms with Afranet was held with a business partnership approach to activate different sectors of ICT.
In the meeting which was held with senior managers of active foreign investment firms, Fereydoon Ghasem Zadeh, Afranet’s CEO, talked about new opportunities which were created after Iran’s nuclear deal and upcoming competitive advantages. He also introduced Iran as a hotbed of investment opportunities for foreign investment firms who are prepared to transfer technical know-how and technology, with the aim of acquiring 400 million people market of the region. “Iran has the first place in terms of the number of Internet users in the Middle East,” said Afranet CEO, about the unique potential of Iran in the ICT sector. “International bandwidth increased to more than 8 times over the past three years, nearly 10 million people are online via 3G mobile broadband and 4G / LTE, more than 10 million via ADSL and WiMAX and more than 40 million smartphones in the market, presence of entrepreneurs and talented developers in the country shows that Iran would be the destination for investors for the development of the digital industry.”
According to Frost & Sullivan report, Iran’s ICT market would be 21 Billion Dollars by 2016. It is estimated that this number would reach to 30 Billion Dollars in 2020. “The company of Afranet has achieved much success in the past few years, for instance, the entrance of the company to OTC (Over-the-counter) as the first private company in the ICT sector, Afranet data center development, launch of cloud service (Cloud Computing) and activities in the field International CDN, ” said Afranet CEO with an emphasis on Afranet’s position in Iran’s ICT sector. Ghasem Zadeh also offered some comments on the company’s future plans in the FCP (Fixed Communications Provider) sector, data center development, cloud services across the country and launching digital businesses which are interesting to foreign investors.
