Crowdsourcing Week Summit to Take Place in Tehran

Crowdsourcing Week Summit Tehran (CSW Tehran) will take place on May 20th, 2016 at Iran National Library. This is the first global CSW event happening in the Middle East.

When it comes to making changes and developing new ideas, a group of individuals working towards one goal have a better chance to achieve success rather than a one man team. Today, initiatives involving crowdsourcing has become a hot topic amongst innovators and decision makers. Crowdsourcing is the process of getting work or funding from a group of people in order to make a faster and better progress.

In a crowdsourced project, a group of people gather around to bring funding or workforce for a specific cause. A good example could be Wikipedia. A website dedicated to bring information to people around the world for free, by a crowd of editors and writers. Another example could be Kickstarter, a crowdfunding website which helps creators bring their ideas to life by receiving pledges from the backers of the project.

Crowdsourcing Week is hosted in more than 15 countries around the globe and for the first time in Iran and the Middle East, CSW summit is happening in Tehran. The one day event aims to engage the Iranian and the international community of entrepreneurs and experts in crowdsourcing and crowdfunding.

Crowdfunding, open innovation, smart cities and sharing economy are the four main courses of CSW Tehran. Keynote talks, panel discussions and workshops will cover these four areas in context of crowdsourcing. The event will be dual language (English/Farsi) although most of the talks will be in English.

Some of the speakers and experts at the CSW Tehran will include Khosrow Saljoughi, Board Member at the Information Technology Organisation of Iran, Junaid Iqbal, MD Pakistan of Careem.com, Dr. Jafar Mohammadi, Executive Director of Sharif ICT Innovation Center, Mona Aouri Langendorf, founder of Woomentum.fund and Epi Ludvik Nejad, founder of Crowdsourcing.
