Avatech accelerator welcomed 17 new teams to its second round of the pre-accelerator program. Avacamp is a new initiative from Avatech that helps the new teams to get ready for the acceleration program.
During the session, Iran Seyed-Raeisy, Avatech’s Program Manager provided a brief description of the program, its structure and timeline. The session continued with Mohsen Malayeri, Avatech’s CEO, welcoming the new teams. In addition, Avatech alumni from previous cycles, including the founders of Faranesh, EasyPaz, NazarBazar, Botick and FullFekr, shared their experiences and knowledge with the new teams. Sajad Behjati and Kaveh Yazdifard, two of Avatech’s mentors, also spoke about their areas of expertise and shared their knowledge about how to make the best out of the mentorship sessions. The day ended with a casual social gathering with tea and pastry where the teams further introduced themselves to each other.
Avacamp is a 2-month program for tech startups which its admission takes place 4 times a year. The program provides mentorship, training and coworking space. During each cycle, the teams aim to build or improve their Minimum Viable Product (MVP), validate their business model, get a deeper understanding of their customers and the market, develop go-to-market strategies and strengthen their teams. The program also provides basic training on developing a successful pitch and culminates in a Pitch Festival.
Avacamp’s second cycle follows the first cycle that launched on Sep 24th, 2016 with a total of 14 teams. A first of its kind, the program provided an opportunity for teams to develop their ideas further without any strings attached, in terms of having to give away shares in return for seed investment. The program includes various workshops on topics such as lean canvas, MVP, UX/UI, customer interviews, marketing and Scrum amongst other topics, delivered by some of Iran’s top experts on each topic. To name a few startups in the cycle, Kamoot, Omdex, Unesh, Tiva and Taxichi were amongst the teams that excelled greatly during the program. CafeTadris was offered a wild card and direct admission into the accelerator program starting in April 2017. Following the footsteps of the previous teams, Avacamp’s second cycle teams are excited about the opportunity to make the best of the 2-month long program, to build, learn and test quickly and to prepare for the acceleration program later in this year.
